Bodegas Silvano Garcia

The town of Jumilla in northern Murcia is famed for its wine and there are literally dozens of bodegas in the town offering wine tasting experiences.  However, whilst planning our Wine & Ride Tour we've discovered what we think is the best on offer - without a doubt. 

Bodegas Silvano Garcia sits in the centre of Jumilla within sight of the town's iconic castle and has been producing wine for three generations. Join one of their tours and you'll see how all the team are passionate about their products and heritage. 

Aroma room

One of the most interesting parts of the tour is the aroma room where you'll get to sample all of the aromas, both good and bad, which you might find in wine.  It really is a treat for the senses and all seems logical when you've got the aroma guides in front of you.  However, when faced with blind "testing" it becomes a little more difficult.

 Wine tasting - what we all came for!

Next is the highlight of the visit - the wine tasting.  You'll tasy a variety of the bodega's finest wines; with red, white and rosé  to choose from there'll be something to suit all tastes.  After choosing your favourite the enjoyment continues as we spend the rest of afternoon eating delicious local cuisine washed down with limitless wine.

As an added bonus the bodega choose a range of traditional local cuisine to make this a truly unique experience.  The choices include:

Mojama  - cured tuna often known as "the ham of the sea"

Pirusas - a light desert flavoured with aniseed

Local goats cheese served with wine marmalade
